What is hexchat?
HexChat is an IRC client based on XChat, but unlike XChat it’s completely free for both Windows and Unix-like systems. Since XChat is open source, it’s perfectly legal.

Before we begin,
be sure to Register by visiting https://epic-nation.com/iregister or by clicking HERE

Download Hexchat by scrolling to the bottom of the page

Open the setup and click Next
(3)
Accept the agreement and click Next
(4)
Choose where you want to install, (Default is c:\program files\HexChat) and then click next

Select your components. If you are confused or just don’t know what to do, choose Normal Installation.) Click Next

Usually another window would have opened by now, this one is asking if you would like to make your download portable. (if you are confused or just don’t know what to do, keep it unchecked). Click Next

This is the summary page, just click Install.

Once it has finished installing, Check “Run HexChat after closing the Wizard” and click Finish.

Congratulations, you have successfully installed Hexchat. Now to configure it. Once hexchat is opened you should see the Network list, if nothing has popped up, click on Hexchat on the tool bar and click network list. (sorry for the small picture)

Fill in the information you see (Nick name; Second choice(if your nickname is unavailable) third choice and a username)

Next, click ADD and replace New Network with geekirc

Click EDIT with geekirc selected.

Replace “newserver/6667” with irc.geeksirc.net/6667

Click on the Autojoin channels tab and then click Add

Replace #channel with #epicnation then press enter

Click on Add and replace the new #channel with #epicnation-achievement and press enter.
Repeat until you have added the following channels
#epicnation
#epicnation-achievement
#epicnation-mvm
#epicnation-dr

Now, click on the Connect Commands and then click Add

Replace ECHO Hello with /msg nickserv identify nickname password (replace nickname and password with the nickname and password you used to register before the first step)

Click close

Last but not least, click Connect
You should now be connected to our IRC channel
